The shades of the printed image are determined by the size and depth of the pits. If the pits are deeper, the ink content is more, and the thickness of the ink layer on the

substrate after the imprinting is thicker. Conversely, if the pit is shallow, the amount of ink contained is less, and the ink layer remaining on the substrate after embossing is

thinner.

The gravure printing plate is composed of a number of pits corresponding to the original image and the surface of the printing plate. During printing, the ink is filled into the pit,

the ink on the surface of the printing plate is scraped off with a squeegee, and there is a certain pressure contact between the printing plate and the substrate. The ink in the pit

is transferred to the substrate and the printing is completed.
